Assassin's Creed Introduces Surprising AoT Event for Holiday Season

In a unexpected collaboration that defies traditional expectations, the game developer has revealed an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.

Strange Adventure Disclosed

According to the formal announcement, "A strange meeting draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where hints of prohibited rituals and terrifying transformations reverberate through the obscurity." The storyline presents a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a hidden cult.

The questline centers on "strange trials and a monstrous enemy" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Iconic Locations and Changes

The teaser features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer concludes with a dramatic moment showing a character, likely the prisoner, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Rewards and Bonus Features

Players who successfully complete the quest will receive an exclusive katana together with several artifacts secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

Latest Free Story Content

This release also adds the game's latest free story episode, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature abilities: Naoe reveals a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
